Appearance: Tall, very slender, sandy hair that he wears sort of long and shaggy and brown eyes. He has a number of scars from his time as wolf, including the two across his face that we see in movie canon.

In his wolf form, he is nearly indistinguishable from a true wolf except for his pupils, the shape of his snout, and his tufted tail. More information on werewolves in his canon can be found here.

Personality: J.K. Rowling has said that Remus’ greatest flaw is his intense desire to be liked. This desire drives much of Remus’ actions. Having been bullied or discriminated against for most of his life, he feels very strongly for anyone else in the same situation. He knows what it’s like to not have friends or to be amongst people who dislike you intensely, so he tends to try and befriend those who have no one else.

His desire to be liked, however, means that he is a very, very forgiving person, often times of people who do not deserve it. He is inclined to believe the best of people and disinclined to call people out for their behavior. Later in life he will somewhat overcome this latter trait, but at this young age, he’s not there yet. This is still the prefect who allowed his friends to get away with bullying other students rather than risk losing a friendship he saw as tentative and dependent on his willingness to turn a blind eye.

He cares a great deal about the people in his life and would do almost anything for them, up to and most definitely including giving up his personal health/safety/happiness for their own. His friends need only ask him for a favor and he will gladly comply.

His ‘furry little problem’ is still a huge deal for him. Having just left the relatively safe haven of Hogwarts, he’s discovering just how much the wizarding world at large hates his kind. He’s been completely unable to find a job, and is somewhat unwilling to accept the help his friends have offered. He is trying very hard to believe that he will someday find someone who will give him a job despite his condition, but that optimism has begun to take a serious beating, and he’s not entirely sure how much longer he can keep it up.

The other driving force behind his personality is his desire to do what’s right. He has a very strong moral compass, and while that doesn’t always extend to standing up to his friends when they go against that, it does influence his decisions for his own actions. He’s just joined the Order of the Phoenix because he can’t sit by and watch Voldemort’s followers gaining power. (Part of his decision to join was definitely that his friends from Hogwarts were doing so and also that he feels he owes Professor Dumbledore for the opportunities he gave Remus.)

Remus is rather reserved in general, and he takes his time in trusting people. It’s unlikely that he will ever willingly share the truth of his lycanthropy with anyone, but he will also not lie about it if asked directly.

Powers/Abilities: He’s a wizard, and a fairly clever one, particularly good with charms and defense against the dark arts. He’s working on wandless & nonverbal magic, but he’s not terribly good at either just now.

Possessions: His wand, a small notebook, a cloak, and the clothes on his back.

Reason for Playing: Lyall-mun told me about the game, and I thought it might be interesting to play Remus off some other werewolves, especially ones who operate completely differently to him.
